About Me - Rory Ledwith

Hi i'm Rory, and in one form or another I have been involved in sport, training and fitness most of my life.

I provide expert knowledge and encouragement with individuals or groups alike in there desire to change there lifestyle's or train for specific goals and events, im based in mainland Europe and work anywhere from Jersey, France, Spain to the US dealing with all types of clients.

I grew up in Ireland playing Gaelic football, Soccer and doing Athletics, having moved to the UK in 1985 I continued to play soccer and went on to play at a semi-professional level between 1998-2008.

Whilst at school I encountered and added Badminton and Tennis to my growing list of activities, again going on to represent my schools and county.
As it has been for the last 7 or 8 year's, Athletics was a big part of my school life including 100/200m and long/high jump success.

My highlight being when I had 3 months training with the ex-GB sprint relay team-coach in Wales, where the emphasis is on speed-endurance which is a perfect mix of speed, power, strength and stamina, something that has helped me compete injury-free in many sports for many years.

My quailfication in fitness management and personal fitness (AFPA) came having worked as a fitness instructor in Texas, USA in 1998/9. This led me to begin doing something I love to do; helping people to improve not just there fitness but there complete lifestyle.

While I have spent time training larger groups in between i.e; athletic groups and football clubs, I find working one to one is my greatest pleasure.

Currently I compete, (in-between work!) in sprint triathlons (400-750m swim / 12-15mile cycle /  5-10km run). I have recently competed a Extreme Terrain Sprint Triathlon, also I hope to take part in the new events of Roughtrack Triathlon and the new to Europe event of Urbanathlon soon.
I've done over 23 Sprint Tri's with 6th place my PB.

Adventure race's are also on the agenda this coming year, it's a 3 man/
woman event consisting of 10km off-road running, 25km mountain biking and some 3 man kayaking, great fun and an ideal way to train with a specific goal in mind.

I've also had the pleasure of playing American football as a wide receiver for the county for a season, I still train / compete in the occasional soccer match, compete in bike races, train and compete at boxing club's, run 100-400 metre sprints at athletic club, play club tennis/badminton matches and have taken kayaking river days.
